ISOMETER® iso175
The ISOMETER® iso175 product line, is an insulation monitoring device for unearthed drive systems in hybrid and electric vehicles.
It has an active, patented measuring method for continuous monitoring of the insulation resistance in a high-voltage system. Depending on the variant, the device communicates with its system environment using different CAN protocols (standard Bender, SAEJ1939).

- Suitable for 12 V and 24 V DC systems (supply voltage)
- Insulation monitoring of DC insulation faults for unearthed systems (IT systems) DC 0…1000 V
- Continuous insulation resistance measurement RF_corrected = 0…35 MΩ (RF_ original = 0…50 MΩ)
- Response time ≤ 30 s for insulation resistances ≤ 500 Ω/Volt and system leakage capacitances ≤ 2μF
- Insulation measurement for system leakage capacitances up to 10 μF can be configured by setting parameters in the high capacitance (“High Capacity“) profile.
- Insulation measurement also when the vehicle's HV electric system is not energised
- Intetrated self diagnosis (online self test)

Long-lasting Safety for E-Mobility in Public Transport
In modern electric buses, reliability, safety, and service life are critical. The ISOMETER® iso175 from Bender is specifically designed for use in electric commercial vehicles – and reliably supports your e-bus over a service life of more than one million kilometers. With a mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeding 139,000 hours in accordance with EN/IEC 61709, it continuously monitors high-voltage systems – even under demanding conditions such as continuous operation, vibration, and elevated temperatures.
The result: reliable insulation monitoring – for the entire lifetime of a city bus. ** A typical city bus covers around 1,000,000 kilometers over its lifetime. At an average urban driving speed of 25 km/h, this translates to approximately 40,000 hours of operation – equivalent to about 12–15 years of daily service.
